Hyper Ground System is just a bunch of wires; I can make my own set with speaker wire for a fraction of the cost so why should I spend over $100 for yours? Why should I buy Hyper Ground System when other companies sell something similar for a fraction of the cost?


What is it?

Hyper Ground System is a new generation tuning system designed to provide a direct, low-resistance

ground path from engine components to the battery. It will allow the entire electrical system to perform
at peak efficiency, which can result in:

-increased hp

-increased torque

-improved fuel efficiency

-stabilized idle

-brighter lights

-quicker engine starts

-reduced emissions

-reduced audio noise
 

How does it work?

In any electrical system, electric current flows from the positive terminal to the electrical components, and back to the battery through the negative terminal. However, the way that the factory (stock) grounds are set up, the electrons must travel through the steel and/or aluminum components in the car to complete the circuit, which creates much electrical resistance (steel/aluminum are not the best materials for electrical
conductivity). This resistance disturbs the flow of electricity to a degree that electrical components such as the ECU, lights, spark plugs, etc. cannot perform at maximum efficiency. In order to get the highest performance out of any automobile, it is necessary to achieve an efficient flow of electricity with the least resistance along its electrical circuit. By providing a direct ground path using highly conductive 99.99% pure
copper, this electrical resistance is reduced greatly (as much as 10 times!), resulting in an ultra-low resistance ground path. In short, Hyper Ground System affects the electrical system similar to how a high performance intake & exhaust system affects the mechanical system, by scavenging power which would otherwise be lost due to system inefficiencies.

 

What makes it so special?

Japanese WRC racing teams had previously utilized this type of ground tuning, and the technology eventually filtered to auto enthusiasts who constructed their own versions. Hyper Ground System was the first ground tuning system made available to the public in Japan (known in the JDM as Hot Earth). Sun Auto produces the Hyper Ground System to an exacting level of utmost quality. The cables are made to our proprietary design, constructed using thick-gauge 99.99% pure copper, with 1477 strands per cable. Since the electrons only travel on the outside of the strands, many strands are necessary to maximize the electron flow. The cables utilize multi-layered shielding, which is specially blended to provide minimum electron leakage as well as to withstand engine room temperatures and protect against discoloration. Terminals are available with
gold plating, for better electrical conductivity and protection against corrosion. The Hyper Ground System also uses a patented "daisy-chain" method to connect directly from the cylinder head and other points under the hood to the battery, to provide an ultra-low resistance ground path. The kit comes in 3 universal sizes to fit any type of vehicle, and is effective for use in anything from bone-stock to fully modified vehicles. Aside from the universal kits (5 cables in different lengths), Sun Auto offers a lineup of car-specific kits, which are tailor-made to fit a specific vehicle. These car-specific kits are sold in the US under the Hot Earth (JDM) brand name, and have specific mounting points, exact wire lengths, and are typically 6 or more cables, to give the absolute best fit and best performance.

 

Sounds like a hoax, where's the proof?

Hyper Ground System (Hot Earth) has been sold in the Japanese market for the past 4 years, and has been tested again and again with positive results. We entered the US market in 2002, and have put Hyper Ground System to the test in various auto enthusiast publications. Popular magazines such as Import Tuner, Turbo, Mini Truckin', Super Street, HCI, Honda Tuning, TPR, etc. have all done their own testing on our product, and they all came back with positive feedback and general amazement that such a simple product could make such a noticeable difference. In fact, Hyper Ground System has been named as one of the 10 best new products by the Import Tuner Power Pages (2002). Dyno testing has proved time and again that this product makes power reliably
and safely. In fact, Sun Automobile provides the same type of grounding systems as OE factory optional equipment for major automobile manufacturers such as Mitsubishi (ex. Evolution VIII in US and Japan), Nissan (ex. 350Z in US and Japan), Subaru (ex. WRX in Japan), Toyota, Isuzu, and Suzuki. The process to become eligible to provide parts as OEM equipment is long and arduous, involving relentless testing to ensure that the products maintain reliability, durability, etc. for extended periods of time. Since the same cables which we provide as OEM parts is used for the Hyper Ground System, you can be assured that you are purchasing the absolute best quality product of its kind available.

 

How hard is it to install?

As long as you have access to regular hand tools, an average person can install Hyper Ground System in less than 1 hour. This is not a system to replace the factory grounding; it is an add-on that utilizes existing bolts/nuts in the engine bay. Available in different colors, it not only boosts performance, it enhances the engine bay looks as well!

Is there a set for my car specifically?

The Hyper Ground System is available in three different universal sizes to fit any vehicle. We also offer optional wires in different lengths to suit your needs.
S-type ? will fit most 4 cylinder and V6 small to mid-size vehicles
M-type ? will fit most inline 6 and V8 mid to full-size vehicles
L-type ? will fit most cars with front engine / rear battery configuration (L-type kit is essentially an S-type
kit plus a 5500mm extension wire)
For any custom applications, one of the kits together with optional wires will work.
Additionally, we have a lineup of car-specific applications available as well. Imported from Japan, with Japanese labeling, Hot Earth is the JDM version of Hyper Ground System. Designed for an exact fit for specific vehicles, wire lengths are exact and mounting locations are specified for each vehicle. As opposed to the universal kits which come with 5 wires, Hot Earth kits generally utilize 6 or more wires to give the maximum efficiency ground path for your car’s electrical system. Current applications available in the US include: Nissan Skyline GTR, Subaru WRX, Acura RSX, Civic Si (EP3), BMW 3-series, Volvo S60/S70, and Mini Cooper S.
New for 2005, Sun Auto is also releasing CYBER SPEED. The CYBER SPEED lineup is targeted for Subaru STI, Mitsubishi Evolution, and Nissan 350Z owners, and all the products in this lineup are made specifically for each application.

 
What will fit my car ?
Hyper Ground System will fit virtually any vehicle:
Universal S-Type: for most 4 cylinder and V6 vehicles
Universal M-Type: for most inline 6, V8 and larger vehicles
Universal L-Type: for most cars with front engine/rear battery configuration

Optional wires in varying lengths are also available to supplement the universal kits and/or for custom applications.

Are these products legal?
Hyper Ground System was designed for use as OEM optional equipment. Generally speaking, any product that is authorized for use as original equipment by a car manufacturer is done so under the agreement that the parts are legal for use on public roads. Installing Hyper Ground System on your vehicle is not necessarily a modification to your vehicle, but rather an addition that supplements an existing system for increased efficiency. Hyper Ground System is not a replacement for your existing factory ground system; it is designed to be used in conjunction with your factory grounds to enhance electrical system efficiency through a direct, low-resistance ground connection. In any case, it is always best to check with your local laws and regulations to verify legality of any products you purchase for your vehicle.
 
Is there a warranty?
Sun Auto offers a 1-year limited warranty for the Hyper Ground System, to guarantee against any manufacturer defects. Please refer to the instruction manual for details.
 
Will using Hyper Ground System void my manufacturers warranty?
You will need to review the details of your vehicles warranty, but as a general rule the warranty can only be voided if any problem with the vehicle is directly related to non-OEM parts installed on the vehicle. Since Hyper Ground System was originally designed for OEM use, as long as the product is installed properly you should be assured that your car will operate normally.
 
How much horsepower/torque will I gain with Hyper Ground System?
As with any product, the amount of benefit gained will vary between applications. Some applications we have tested have gained 16+ horsepower, but the average gain seems to be between 3-6 horsepower. Hyper Ground System is not a product that is used to boost your vehicles power; it is designed to increase efficiency in the electrical system to help your vehicle operate at its full potential. A good comparison would be to examine the effect of changing the intake and/or exhaust system of your vehicle. By allowing the car to “breathe” easier by installing a higher flowing exhaust and/or intake system, horsepower which is otherwise lost to system inefficiencies is restored. Similarly, Hyper Ground System affects your electrical system in the same manner. So, how inefficiently your factory electrical system is operating in its current condition will determine how much power can be restored by installing Hyper Ground System. One thing to consider is that virtually 100% of our customers are completely satisfied with their Hyper Ground System purchase, and simply amazed that such a simple addition could help their vehicle perform so much better.

Hyper Ground System comes complete with the hardware and instruction manual. If you choose to install the product yourself, all you need are basic hand tools and a little time to complete installation. Constructing your own kit, which requires you to source (inferior) materials, involves labor and time for assembly, without any guarantee of effectiveness or even risk of damaging components in your vehicle, does not necessarily guarantee a proper installation or effectiveness to increase electrical efficiency. Furthermore, adding the cost of your time and labor on top of the cost of materials would probably amount to more than the cost of our kits, and would not include our technical support should any issues arise.
